Frost, The Faerie Shaman - Part 2

Frost the Faerie Shaman - Part 2

Frost spent her days building alliance with the Faeries and befriending them individually. She was rather content with this life, until it became dangerous. Witches were being hunted. The forest in which Frost lived was known to have housed witches, faeries, and other spirits in the past, so it was one of the first places that was being destroyed by witch hunters. The faeries were able to use magic to hide Frost's cottage from the eyes of those who wished her dead, but that was not enough. Soon, Frost spent all of her time hiding in her cottage whilst the trees around her and the wildlife were gradually disappearing. Frost longed for her afternoon walk with the faeries. She longed for her occasional trip to the city in search of potions,  new magical spells, and gossip about the magical realm. Now all that was lost; it was too dangerous for her, a known faerie shaman, to expose herself.
With much despair, Frost packed a few of her things and said goodbye to the forest, her cottage, and her beloved faerie friends.
The Faeries tried to convince her to stay, but all she would say was, "Farewell, my friends. Do not fret, we shall cross paths again someday." And with that, she left the woods that fateful, winter night.

Frost, The Faerie Shaman

As we break from our Gnome Chronicles for just a bit, let me share some other shorter stories that will ultimately all add up to one gigantic story in the scheme of life.

Frost, The Faerie Shaman - Part 1

During the time of King Arthur, a young girl named Frost lived in a vast forest, which would now be located on the Welsh side of the border between England and Wales. The forest, known as "Coedwig y Faerie," housed tall, thin trees that secluded Frost's tiny cottage.
Frost was a peculiar one. She had striking blue eyes that brought color to her pale, white skin. Although she was not old, she had straight, white hair that flowed just below her shoulders.
Frost spent much of her time strengthening her friendship with the faeries by praying and leaving them presents of honey and mead. This was not uncommon. Many witches would occasionally pray to the faeries, but Frost was different. She fell in love with the spirits and dedicated so much time and energy into her relationship with them. She would always go out of her way to do little things for them, such as planting lovely tulips and roses in which faeries could make their homes.
These wonderful deeds made the faeries notice Frost. One autumn evening, they decided to make her a faerie shaman. When she woke up the next evening, to her delight she could see the faeries! She would walk outside and see hundreds of them. You see, the forest, "Coedwig y Faerie," translates to Forest of the Faerie. The forest was where many of the faerie spirits resided peacefully.

The next couple parts of this story will come after I do a bit more research on faerie shamans. Stay tuned.

FYI: I am not trying to copy the Early and The Fairy; I'm using my own sources on faerie shamanism to inspire my story, along with other short stories that I've written about faeries, gnomes, and witches.

Away

Hullo,

So Blackrabbit-san and I are both on what might be considered a vacation. Thus, I doubt either of us will be posting much. In the meantime, I'll just supply you with some random photos, videos, short stories etc. to keep you occupied. Keep calm and call us king!

Mushroom

I made a mushroom in my spare time. I have to admit, mushrooms are fun to draw and aesthetically pleasing.

Ouran High School Host Club

Ellohay,

Ouran High School Host Club certainly starts off with a weird, but funny twist. The other day I was skimming through Netflix and decided to try watching it. Many of my friends had told me it was a great anime.

The anime follows a young girl named Haruhi Fujioka as she pretends to be a boy to work for her high school host club. She works to pay off her debt to the club after accidentally breaking their antique vase. The story is mainly about all of the crazy things that happen in the host club and the characters who are a part of it. The anime contains mostly comedy with a touch of romance. I also believe it's rated 13+, but there's nothing extremely inappropriate within the series.
The manga was written by Bisco Hitori and later adapted into a 26-episode anime series in 2006.

I found the series to have quite a lot of slap-stick humor, which is why I enjoyed it and continued watching it. The characterization was great, too; you really got to know the characters and have fun with them. I also feel that the voice acting was superb and very well cast. There were, however, a few problems I had with the series. The plot was rather stagnant and didn't evolve. There was so much comedy at times, the show became too silly.

This anime is a perfect fit for those who like light and fluffy shows. Personally, I would have liked to have seen some more plot development and drama. Overall, I would rate it a 6/10. It was good, but not great.

Here's the first episode:

The Gnome Chronicles Chapter 8

You pass a beautiful, majestic waterfall along the path.

"That's such a pretty waterfall." Cedric looks over and smiles. "Yes, it is. That would be Coven Fall Waters. There's a legend that says whoever drinks from it will be cursed. I'm sure that's just some old wives' tale, though."
After walking a bit more, Cedric exclaims, "We've arrived at the market place!"

Everything is so busy. Fairies, dwarfs, gnomes, pixies, and all sorts of creatures are bustling about and buying potions, herbs, and powders. Cedric takes you to a specific tent that sells spell-books. Working there is a young, gorgeous witch. She has hypnotic eyes that make you feel warm and pleasant.

"Hello," she says, "my name is Cai. How can I help you today? Oh hello, Cedric, nice to see you." "Good morning, Cai. My friend here has never even seen a spell-book. What would you recommend?"
"Well that depends what kind of magic you would like to practice. We have protective magic, healing magic, attack magic, mushroom magic, pixie magic, gnome magic, witchcraft, incantations, potion recipes, and so much more. What sounds good to you?" You're still trying to absorb her words. "Maybe some protective magic, incantations, and....attack magic?"
Cai smiled, lighting up her face and spreading her ruby red lips. "Let me look around for some good beginners' books." She rummages around a bit in the back, dropping books and potions, and spitting out the occasional cuss word. Finally, she comes back with 3 books.
