I wanted to share a colored drawing of mine of the Cheshire Cat in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was written by Lewis Carroll in 1865. The idea of a "grinning Cheshire cat," however, was not originally his; many people had earlier made use of the phrase. Some say that because there is an abundance of dairy farms located in the English county of Cheshire, the cats there were always "grinning" over their large supply of milk.
