The Gnome Chronicles Chapter 6

You have many questions. You decide to ask about everything you can. "Why did you bring me here? Oh my gosh! My parents are going to worry!" Cedric chuckled, "I brought you here to try to gain your alliance with the gnomes. You're parents will be fine. You'll have to trust me on that one." This doesn't make much sense to you.
"Oh dear, I'm afraid I've confused you even more. You see, the evil lord Smouldamort I was telling you about has begun to make attacks on magical beings. Many gnomes, such as myself, work with the MPFSPMB, Magical Police Force Sworn to Protect Magical Beings. Whenever Smouldamort makes an attack, the gnomes of that area are alerted and try to guide refuges to safe houses protected by other members of the force. Such places may be a small store in the underground train stations or even an old lighthouse tower."
"But why me? Why would you want my allegiance?" "Well, honestly, I saw you first. You're luckythat I did. I have decided to train you. You see, every human has the ability to awaken their magical power. Few ever do so, but that's no reason for you not to. I will teach you everything I know about the magical arts. Then you can return to your human form and train with someone else. I haven't decided whom you will train with yet, but-"
"Don't I get a say in this?" you say angrily. "Do you not wish to develop magical powers?" "Well, of course I do, but I can't just drop my entire life and devote myself to magic; I have friends, families, and dreams to fulfill."
Cedric looked dumbfounded. "Do you know what Smouldamort did last month? He blew up an entire magical school. Fortunately, no one was killed. I want you to train, rally a magical party, become the next Merlin, and defeat Smouldamort! Otherwise the world may come to an end!"

"Don't you think you're being a tad melodramatic? I'm sure I'm not the best person to bring down Smouldamort. I still think this is all a dream. Wouldn't it be better to recruit someone who already has lots of magical training? Or even believes in magic as their reality?"
"Perhaps it would," replied Cedric. "I turned on my TV one day and watched The Sound of Music." "You have a TV?" You interjected. "Well what did you think?! I don't live under a rock! The TV is in the corner." He pointed to a fair-sized box TV sitting on a stand made of clay. "Anyway, I was watching The Sound of Music when one of the songs gave me hope. It was the lines, 'Let's start at the very beginning, it's a very good place to start.' It made me realize that I needed a fresh plan and a fresh mind. You have a fresh mind. Come on! We're at the very beginning, it's up to you to continue!"

  1. By the Way, Cedric, I found out who stole my powders, It was a bloody Dwarf named Redric. Some how he found out about you and chose to frame you. His plan was simple, put Wabbakazooie Powder in your pocket, dress up like you when stealing it, and then distract me by blaming you, I am quite gullible you know. Here have this as a token of forgiveness, a beginner wand for Mushroom Magic (Wabbakazooie and stuff are a different magic, This includes spells like Mushroomagon (Turns you/others into polygons) and Sporifie (Turns peoples brains into spores)) and a special Hat for you, it changes color and shape to your liking
